In 2023, Cebeo began a phased implementation of SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial core, initiating a multiyear program to replace a forty year old inhouse ERP application. The program is explicitly phased, with finance processes scheduled as the first cutover and subsequent waves planned through to a full rollout expected in 2026. The initial scope centers on finance modules and related master data, with configuration aligned to SAP best practices and a deliberate Keep the Core Clean governance principle to minimize custom logic inside SAP S/4 HANA. Functional capabilities being implemented in the finance phase include general ledger processing, accounts payable and receivable workflows, and the financial close orchestration that are typical for an ERP Financial deployment. SAP S/4 HANA is deployed in a Private Cloud on Microsoft Azure, positioned to serve as the transactional heart of a best of breed application landscape that includes branch systems, a hypermodern distribution centre, and the company webshop. Ctac Netherlands is the system integrator supporting the program, bringing prior experience from related Sonepar subsidiary rollouts to manage the technical migration and Azure hosting coordination. Governance and process redesign are central to the rollout, with Cebeo and Ctac jointly reevaluating processes to adopt SAP standard workflows and to preserve operational continuity. The finance cutover is planned to go live in June 2024, with executive emphasis on ensuring customers and daily operations experience minimal disruption during and after each phase. Cebeo positions SAP S/4 HANA as the company wide ERP Financial backbone that will underpin a best of breed landscape, reduce bespoke inhouse ERP dependency, and standardize financial processes across branches, the distribution centre, and digital channels.
