| Nagios Enterprises | Legacy | Nagios XI | Remote Monitoring and Management | ITSM | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019 Cereal Docks deployed Nagios XI as its central Remote Monitoring and Management platform to instrument the company IT estate at the Camisano Vicentino datacenter. The implementation supported an IT operations environment that includes Windows 7 8 10 clients, DELL servers running Windows Server 2008 through 2019, VMware vCenter and ESXi hosts, a Nutanix hyperconverged system, Synology NAS, and network infrastructure from HP Aruba, together with Sophos and Checkpoint firewalls and perimeter devices.
Nagios XI was configured to provide host and service level monitoring across servers and endpoints, agent based and agentless checks for Windows systems, SNMP monitoring for switches and access points, and hypervisor level checks for VMware and Nutanix infrastructure. The monitoring configuration incorporated backup and protection signals from Commvault and antivirus state from the Trendmicro console, while also surfacing availability information for email services configured over POP IMAP and Exchange protocols and Office365 administrative endpoints.
Operational coverage for Nagios XI centered on IT infrastructure and security operations, supporting device management tasks such as printer and camera health checks and datacenter cabling visibility tied to network device status. The deployment was used by Cereal Docks IT staff for continuous analysis and troubleshooting of managed systems, with Nagios XI serving as the single pane for alerts, dashboards, and escalation inputs into existing incident handling workflows.
Governance and day to day operations embedded Nagios XI into routine infrastructure administration, where monitoring outputs informed Microsoft domain administration activities including DNS DHCP and Group Policy maintenance, as well as the management of mobile device configurations and backup verification. Nagios XI was explicitly named as the monitoring management tool in use, and it provided the structural monitoring backbone for infrastructure, security, and endpoint management across the site.
