| OpenText | Legacy | OpenText Vendor Invoice Management | AP Automation | ERP | n/a | 2015 | 2015 |
In 2015 CF Industries implemented OpenText Vendor Invoice Management as an AP Automation solution to centralize accounts payable processing across the enterprise. The implementation was part of a broader OpenText footprint that included OpenText Content Server and Extended ECM, with OpenText Vendor Invoice Management used alongside VIM and ICC to provide invoice capture and processing capabilities. This positions CF Industries OpenText Vendor Invoice Management AP Automation for finance and accounts payable functions.
The deployment used OpenText Content Server as the enterprise content repository and Extended ECM to link invoice records to business objects and business processes. OpenText Vendor Invoice Management, VIM and ICC were configured for automated invoice ingestion, OCR and data extraction, invoice classification, routing-based workflow, and exception management consistent with standard AP Automation workflows. Configuration emphasized role-based access, document retention, and audit trail capabilities provided by the OpenText stack.
Operational coverage targeted corporate finance and accounts payable teams across the enterprise, with the solution integrated into core financial systems and accounts payable workflows to enable straight-through processing where possible. Governance was structured with finance process owners and a functional analyst providing strategic guidance for OpenText solutions, supporting staged rollout planning, configuration governance, and procedural updates for invoice intake and approvals. The architecture relied on OpenText Content Server and Extended ECM as the information management backbone, with VIM and ICC orchestrating invoice lifecycle processing.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday Absence Management | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | n/a | 2017 | 2018 |
In 2017, CF Industries implemented Workday Absence Management as part of a broader Workday HCM program at its Wheeling, IL site. The Workday Absence Management rollout fell under the Absence and Leave Management category and was aligned to HR, Payroll, Time & Labor and Benefits functions supporting site-level workforce administration.
Implementation covered configuration of Workday Absence Management alongside Base Benefits, Benefits Administration, Payroll, Time Tracking, Core HCM, Talent Management, Recruiting, Performance Management and Advanced Compensation. The deployment used Workday's business process framework to configure conditional rules, create time entry codes, groups, time entry templates, period schedules and worker eligibility rules to align absence workflows with time tracking and payroll processes.
Integrations were implemented using Workday EIB, inbound and outbound Core Connectors for Worker and Payroll including PICOF and PICEF, Workday Core Connector Developer, Workday Integration Server and Workday Studio. Technical integration and testing leveraged Web Services, XML, XSLT, XPath, SOAP UI and Oxygen, and the team developed integration and functional reports to extract and reconcile mass employee and payroll data from Workday.
Operational scope included configuring web servers and application servers for the Workday environment and providing production support across HCM, Time Tracking, Absence Management and Payroll from September 2016 through June 2018. Governance activity encompassed product feasibility studies, functional specifications, system prototyping, day to day support for HCM and Payroll issues, and cross-module coordination between Core HR and Talent Management for planned activities and issue resolution.

| AVEVA Group | Legacy | Aveva APM Assessment | Asset Performance Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020, CF Industries implemented Aveva APM Assessment as its Asset Performance Management solution to drive predictive maintenance and reduce unplanned shutdowns. CF Industries, a major North American fertilizer manufacturer, had relied on a structured, homegrown maintenance approach going back to the 1980s that became increasingly costly to operate, and it procured Aveva APM to boost performance and contain maintenance spend.
The Aveva APM Assessment deployment centralized asset health analytics, predictive maintenance workflows, and history-based maintenance strategy guidance. Aveva APM Assessment was used to provide visibility into maintenance materials and services planning, to surface maintenance cost metrics, and to codify best‑practice maintenance methods based on operational history, supporting maintenance, reliability, and IT teams.
Governance changes included standardizing maintenance strategies and putting cost and materials readiness into operational decision making, with Aveva APM Assessment integrated into plant maintenance workflows and reliability processes. As noted by Dave Wiedenfeld, Group Project Leader, IT, "We can now ensure that maintenance materials and services are there when we need them, know what it costs to maintain the plant, and know the best way to maintain it based on history." The program delivered improved operations, reduced costs, rapid return on investment, and savings measured in the millions of dollars.
