Character AI Technographics
Discover the latest software purchases and digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by Character AI and its business and technology executives. Each quarter our research team identifies on-prem and cloud applications that are being used by the 90 Character AI employees from the public (Press Releases, Customer References, Testimonials, Case Studies and Success Stories) and proprietary sources.
During our research, we have identified that Character AI has purchased the following applications: Google TensorFlow for ML and Data Science Platforms in 2022, Google Workspace (Formerly Google G-Suite) for Collaboration in 2021, Zendesk Service for Customer Support in 2023 and the related IT decision-makers and key stakeholders.
Our database provides customer insight and contextual information on which enterprise applications and software systems Character AI is running and its propensity to invest more and deepen its relationship with Google , Zendesk , Oracle or identify new suppliers as part of their overall Digital and IT transformation projects to stay competitive, fend off threats from disruptive forces, or comply with internal mandates to improve overall enterprise efficiency.
We have been analyzing Character AI revenues, which have grown to $35.0 million in 2024, plus its IT budget and roadmap, cloud software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions for Character AI intention to invest in emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database or in cloud-based ERP, HCM, CRM, EPM, Procurement or Treasury applications.

In 2022, Character AI implemented Google TensorFlow to underpin its core machine learning development, placing the deployment squarely in the ML and Data Science Platforms category. The work aligned with Character AI's mission to create personalized conversational superintelligence, and was driven by engineering and research teams within the 90-person company based in the United States, including founders with backgrounds at Google Brain and Meta Research.
The Google TensorFlow implementation focused on model training pipelines, distributed training orchestration, model evaluation and serving workflows for large language models and generative dialog systems. Teams configured experiment management, checkpointing and reproducible training recipes, and implemented GPU-optimized kernels using CUDA and Triton as called out in engineering requirements. Google TensorFlow served as the primary compute framework for training and evaluation across research projects.
The environment was interoperable with other deep learning frameworks used by staff, notably PyTorch and Jax, enabling cross-framework research and conversion workflows between experimental prototypes and production-ready models. Operational coverage targeted research, engineering and design functions and extended into the public beta conversational product to support production-like inference testing. Infrastructure emphasis included accelerator backed compute, data pipelines for training corpora and serving endpoints for inference.
Governance and workflow changes emphasized model versioning, experiment tracking and review gates between research and deployment to manage the dialog model lifecycle and safety checks. The rollout prioritized reproducible pipelines and close collaboration between research scientists and engineers to support end-to-end responsibilities for designing, training, evaluating and deploying models using Google TensorFlow.
