In 2019, Chaucer Plc implemented Oracle PeopleSoft ERP. Oracle PeopleSoft ERP was adopted as the company's ERP Financial platform to centralize finance functions for the 500 employee insurance firm based in the United Kingdom, targeting corporate finance, accounting, and treasury workflows.
The implementation configured core ERP Financial capabilities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and cash management, alongside financial close and statutory reporting workflows. Configuration work emphasized chart of accounts harmonization, period close automation and audit trail instrumentation to align with insurance sector accounting and compliance requirements.
Astute Business Solutions served as the implementation partner and chose Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to host and manage Oracle PeopleSoft ERP based on Chaucer's performance and security requirements. Hosting was provisioned on OCI infrastructure under a managed services model that encompassed application hosting, platform operations, patch management and backup orchestration, with Astute providing ongoing platform maintenance and environment security controls.
Operational governance combined finance and IT oversight with role based access controls, formal change control processes and a single point of support for incident and release management. The rollout focused on consolidating financial operations within Oracle PeopleSoft ERP and institutionalizing application governance to meet the insurer's regulatory and security obligations.

In 2020, Chaucer Plc deployed Workday Compensation to centralize pay governance and support Compensation Management across its HR and Reward functions. The Workday Compensation rollout focused on the Reward team based in London and extended configuration and reporting support to executive stakeholders, China Re, Finance and international HR teams in Copenhagen, Miami, Dubai and Singapore.
Configuration emphasized Workday Advanced Compensation capabilities, implementing the annual compensation review cycle with salary and bonus modelling, benchmarking and job matching for salary surveys. The implementation also delivered director emoluments reporting and enabled calculation and reporting workflows for gender and race pay gap analysis, aligning technical configuration with Compensation Management requirements.
Operational workflows were structured to feed compensation decisions into monthly payroll oversight and to generate auditable outputs for auditors and the Remuneration Committee. The deployment supported pension governance inputs and benefit management workflows, including flexible benefits administration, annual benefit renewal planning and packaged data outputs to support tax queries handled with internal and external advisers.
Governance and process work formalized compensation policies and established the Reward Manager as owner of compensation plans and the annual review process within Workday. Configuration and stakeholder engagement design prioritized analytic controls, consistent salary administration and regulatory alignment across Chaucer Plc, embedding Compensation Management practices into HR operations.

In 2020, Chaucer Plc implemented Verisk Sequel Claims as its Insurance Claims Management application. The program was executed within Chaucer Syndicates and the engagement was contracted to NTT Data, with delivery activities spanning SIT, UAT and production environments alongside data centre migration work.
Verisk Sequel Claims was configured to support core claims management capabilities typical of the Insurance Claims Management category, including claims intake, adjudication and workflow orchestration, case management and operational reporting. The implementation included environment provisioning and application upgrade work, and the Verisk Sequel Claims instance was explicitly migrated as part of a PAS Sequel Claims move to AWS.
The technical architecture workstream included a data centre migration to Azure and application migration activities to AWS, plus an upgrade of the Phinsys environment and touchpoints to the firms Data Warehouse and XL Pro. Integration and data feed stabilization across those systems were part of the project scope, with changes promoted through controlled testing cycles.
Project governance used formal PMO reporting mechanisms, RAID logs, Highlight Reports and Project Status Reports, and a team of 3rd Line Project Engineers completed configuration and environment changes. Delivery blended Waterfall and Agile approaches, with the IT Project Manager reporting into Chaucers PMO Manager and overseeing multiple workstreams from inception through closure.
