Oracle Legacy Oracle E-Business Suite ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2012 2012
In 2012, Chicago Transit Authority implemented Oracle E-Business Suite to upgrade Oracle 11i to EBS 12.1.3 as part of a planned re-implementation driven by Business Process modifications, positioning Oracle E-Business Suite in the ERP Financial category for core finance and HR operations. The program targeted a broad module footprint including Payables, Payments, Receivables, HR, Payroll, Benefits, Cash Management, Advanced Collections and EBTax, with functional leadership assigned to Payables, Payments, Receivables and Collections modules. Configuration work completed included full functional setups for Payables, Payments, Receivables, Ebusiness Tax and Advanced Collections, and the project produced BR 100 documentation for AR, AP, Advanced Collections and EBusiness Tax. The team implemented the Payables invoice approval workflow using Approval Management Engine and replaced Oracle 11i payment functions with the new R12 Payments functionality, reflecting an R12 functional cutover for payments and cash management processes. Integrations and data handling were central to the rollout, Oracle E-Business Suite was integrated with the Open Fare system to align fare and receivable records, and functional design deliverables addressed AR invoice transactions import programs. Functional designs also covered conversion of customers, vendors, locations and open payables and receivables transactions, AR invoice print and dunning letter print using XML Publisher, and AP custom check printing plus positive pay file print using XML Publisher. Governance and operational readiness included active user engagement for data cleansing of customers, suppliers and miscellaneous transactions, and ongoing issue management through Oracle SRs and coordination with Oracle Support for bug fixes and resolution. Functional ownership focused on accounts payable, accounts receivable and collections workflows, while HR, payroll and benefits configurations supported payroll and workforce governance within the ERP Financial deployment.
