| Everledger | Legacy | Everledger Diamond Platform | Blockchain Platform | Blockchain | n/a | 2018 | 2018 | In 2018, Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group implemented the Everledger Diamond Platform, a Blockchain Platform, to publish GIA diamond grading reports directly to consumers. The Everledger Diamond Platform was deployed to support the CHOW TAI FOOK T MARK brand and to create permanent, immutable records linking GIA grading information to individual diamonds. Implementation centered on writing GIA diamond grading information directly to a blockchain ledger shared between Chow Tai Fook and GIA, with the unique record transferred to the end customer via the T MARK app. Functional capabilities implemented include immutable grading record creation, provenance capture, and consumer access workflows delivered through mobile application flows and ledger interfaces. The initiative was developed with Everledger and secured by the IBM Blockchain Platform delivered on the IBM Cloud, establishing a permissioned ledger environment managed jointly by Chow Tai Fook and GIA. Deployment began as a pilot in selected Chow Tai Fook stores in Hong Kong with expansion to other locations planned by the end of 2018, scoped to retail point of sale and customer engagement channels for the T MARK product line. Governance and operational workflow required GIA to write grading data to the shared ledger while Chow Tai Fook provisioned access and traceability to customers through the T MARK app, creating an auditable chain of custody for diamond grading information. The program was positioned to enhance consumer assurance and transparency, and to move blockchain use from business to business toward business to consumer interactions. | |
