In 2015, Citibank India implemented Oracle E-Business Suite in the ERP Financial category. The Oracle E-Business Suite deployment provided a centralized platform for core accounting and asset management functions across the bank's financial operations.
In October 2020 the organization initiated an upgrade from R12.1.3 to R12.2.9 with a specific focus on financial modules and Fixed Assets impact analysis. The upgrade program emphasized module-level configuration validation, regression testing, and the delivery of release artifacts for each financial area, with detailed test scripts and impact assessments driving change activities.
Operational coverage for the upgrade testing extended across 85 countries, reflecting a global footprint for financial processing and statutory reporting within the Oracle E-Business Suite instance. The Fixed Assets functional lead managed a team of 12 India-based resources and coordinated with business users to capture new requirements and change requests, while testing internal module interfaces and financial data flows typical of ERP Financial deployments.
Governance and rollout were organized around centralized upgrade testing coordination, resource planning, and risk identification, with senior business system analysis functions responsible for forecasting resource needs and escalating issues to management. Business functions impacted included fixed asset accounting, general ledger reconciliation and broader financial close activities, supported by structured requirement capture and modular delivery across the multi-country environment.
