In 2005 the City of Trenton implemented Edmunds GovTech Financial as its core Government ERP application for municipal finance operations. The deployment placed Edmunds GovTech Financial at the center of transactional accounting and fiscal workflows for city finance staff and departmental finance teams, covering both operating and capital account processing across municipal departments.
Edmunds GovTech Financial was configured to support standard Government ERP functional modules, including requisition and purchase order processing, vendor management and searches, accounts payable transaction entry, check register review, and negative account balance reporting. City financial staff used the application to process and reconcile transactions, with documented account clerk activity showing requisition processing, purchase order research, and exploration of the check register for payments using Edmunds software.
Operational coverage included the Department of Recreation, Natural Resources, & Culture and Trenton Water Works, where clerical and accounting personnel entered monthly workload data, maintained financial records, and processed more than ten million dollars in interdepartmental transactions through Edmunds GovTech Financial. Governance and workflow controls were exercised through requisition to payment workflows, routine negative balance reports for fiscal monitoring, and vendor search and payment review procedures to support municipal financial controls.
