Hewlett Packard Enterprise Legacy Hewlett Packard Autonomy IDOL Analytics and BI, Process Mining Analytics and BI n/a 2010 2010
In 2010 the Civil Aviation Administration of China implemented Hewlett Packard Autonomy IDOL as an Analytics and BI,Process Mining solution to power a national digital library and improve information discovery for aviation safety and regulatory staff. The deployment was a China based information management and knowledge management implementation focused on document centric search and retrieval for mission critical regulatory workflows. Hewlett Packard Autonomy IDOL was configured to deliver meaning based computing capabilities, including large scale document indexing, semantic classification, automated content tagging, and recommendation services. The implementation emphasized document search, classification and recommendations consistent with information retrieval and knowledge management best practices, and it leveraged IDOL’s content analytics and natural language processing capabilities to support metadata enrichment and query relevance. The solution was applied to manage and provide fast access to more than 10 million documents held in the CAAC digital library, supporting aviation safety, regulatory review, and inspector workflows across CAAC departments. The rollout targeted centralized access for regulatory staff and operational analysts within China, establishing a searchable repository and persistent indexing for high volume archival and active reference use. Governance focused on content lifecycle processes and classification policies to ensure consistent information discovery and regulatory compliance, with operational workflows adjusted to rely on IDOL search and recommendation outputs for document retrieval. Outcomes cited included faster, more accurate access to mission critical information for aviation safety and regulatory personnel, improving day to day information availability for CAAC users.
