Komax Legacy Komax 4WIRE CAO Manufacturing Execution System ERP Services and Operations n/a 2015 2015
In 2015, Cobo Montecchio Emilia implemented Komax 4WIRE CAO, a Manufacturing Execution System to support harness production and process engineering workflows. The deployment was led from the Industrialization Department with a designated primary contact who owned CAO rollout activities and cutting phase optimization for TSA machines from Komax and Schleuniger. Configuration focused on cutting-phase optimization, production sequence orchestration, and operator-facing work sequence interfaces for data capture and traceability, leveraging Komax 4WIRE CAO capabilities common to Manufacturing Execution System deployments. The CAO implementation was complemented by internally developed Access based applications, including automatiics for digital order planning and automated ERP data registration, Gomora for plant allocation and cost calculation with ERP integration, geCo for testing procedure management, and GeMa for maintenance supervision. Integrations were executed with plant automation equipment and with enterprise systems, the rollout aligning CAO outputs with the group wide PLM rollout where the site acted as a key user, and linking CAO-driven production data into ERP processes through the automatiics and Gomora tools. Operational coverage included two plants for MES related functions, and the CAO configuration addressed machine-level parameters and production line sequencing for wiring harness assembly. Governance and process changes were driven by the primary CAO contact and key users who coordinated documentation updates, task assignments, and plant adoption. A dual-application ADP pattern was introduced to capture structured operator input and to process and validate data into standardized reports, improving traceability and reporting efficiency while reducing reliance on emails and verbal communication.

SDProget Industrial Legacy SPAC Automation Computer-Aided Design (CAD) PLM and Engineering n/a 2015 2015
In 2015, Cobo Montecchio Emilia implemented SPAC Automation from SDProget Industrial to standardize its electrical and cabling engineering workflows, addressing electromechanical, electrical, and electronic design of automotive components. SPAC Automation was deployed to deliver Computer-Aided Design (CAD) capabilities focused on harness and schematic work across product lines for the agriculture and earthmoving sectors. The implementation concentrated on electrical schematic authoring, cable harness design, cabling documentation, and panel wiring layout as primary functional modules. Configuration emphasized template-driven deliverables and automated documentation output to align electrical artifacts with mechanical design packages. SPAC Automation was integrated with 3D CAD Creo5 and Creo2 to coordinate harness geometry and routing, and it exchanged product and parts information with PLM Winchill and SAP to maintain engineering data continuity. These integrations centralized cabling artifacts in the broader engineering data flow, enabling handoff between electrical design, mechanical design, and enterprise systems. Operational scope covered the electromechanical and electrical design teams operating from Cadelbosco di Sopra, Italy, supporting automotive component development. Governance and process alignment focused on consolidating schematic and cabling authoring inside SPAC Automation, with document and change coordination managed through the PLM and ERP interfaces.
