Functional modules implemented include time and expense capture, billing and invoice generation, electronic billing preparation, accounts receivable management, trust and retainer handling, and reporting to produce timely weekly billing reports for management. Pre bill correction and print and email distribution capabilities were used to produce client bills and submit electronic bills to e billing sites. The firm integrated Centerbase with external e billing platforms, explicitly preparing electronic bills for Legal X, LSS, Caseglide, Legal Tracker, and Acuity and setting up new e billing matters including budget requests and appeals. Operational coverage centered on the Billing Coordinator in Sunrise, FL, attorneys across matters, and management stakeholders who received weekly billing reports and accounts receivable tracking information. Governance and workflow practices were formalized around centralized pre bill reviews, collection contact and dispute handling, processing of write offs in accordance with firm policy, applying retainer funds as directed by attorneys, posting payments and daily deposits, and ongoing reconciliation to correct invoice and payment discrepancies. This configuration positioned Centerbase as the primary Legal Practice Management system for Colodny Fass accounting and revenue operations.
