Cargas Legacy Cargas Energy Oil Gas and Chemicals ERP ERP Services and Operations n/a 2009 2009
In 2009, Combined Energy Services Inc deployed Cargas Energy as its Oil Gas and Chemicals ERP to consolidate fuel management, point of sale, and field service workflows. The implementation scope included designing and provisioning three new office locations and managing all hardware and software project deployments across the organization, with explicit setup and support for the CES gas station, Triple E Gas station system, and Veeder-Root tank monitoring system. Cargas Energy was configured with core fuel management capabilities and operational modules for POS, service technician work orders, inventory tracking, and invoicing. The deployment included structured data conversion, iterative data testing, and staff training as part of the rollout, reflecting a standard ERP configuration and cutover lifecycle for sector specific operations. Physical and edge integrations were a central element of the architecture, integrating Panasonic U1 real time meter reading devices and Bluetooth thermal printers for on site invoicing, and installing Tough Books in all delivery and service trucks to handle POS transactions, technician work orders, GPS tracking, and real time office communication for remote dispatching. Operational coverage spanned three corporate offices, the retail fuel site footprint, and fleet endpoints, with device feeds consolidated into the Cargas Energy application for transactional processing and monitoring. Governance and operationalization centered on coordinated hardware and software project management, onsite device commissioning, and end user training to support adoption of Cargas Energy. The rollout also included automation of a debt collection call system which reduced outstanding receivables, and ongoing support for the integrated tank monitoring and gas station control systems.
