In 2024, Cortical Labs implemented Rippling Payroll to consolidate payroll and core HR functions for its 22-employee, Australia-headquartered organization with an internationally distributed workforce. The deployment of Rippling Payroll served as a single, cloud-delivered HR and payroll platform that addressed chronic synchronization errors across multiple point solutions and aimed to centralize employee data and transactional payroll processing.
The implementation consolidated three separate recruiting, onboarding, and payroll systems into one environment, bringing payroll, expense management, onboarding, and performance review capabilities under Rippling Payroll. Cortical Labs used Rippling’s guided onboarding workflow and intuitive user interface to accelerate configuration and reduce training burden, and applied built-in automation to standardize pay runs, approvals, and expense workflows consistent with Payroll category functionality.
Operational coverage included HR and finance teams across the company, with the system positioned to support international hires and cross-border payroll accuracy for a distributed employee base. The project specifically remedied prior synchronization failures between disparate tools by unifying data flows in Rippling Payroll, creating a central repository for personnel records, pay profiles, expense claims, and performance documentation.
Governance and process changes emphasized a centralized HR record model and automated payroll orchestration, reducing manual reconciliation tasks and limiting points of failure in pay processing. As reported, the rollout delivered more reliable, timely payroll runs, lowered administrative overhead, and freed internal resources to focus on product innovation and expansion initiatives while preserving employee satisfaction and compliance.
