The implementation targeted the E-Business Suite R12 environment and was provisioned from the CoServ Electric site in Corinth, Texas, to support utility finance and project accounting needs.
Oracle E-Business Suite was configured to run standard financial modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Assets, Projects, Cash Management, and reporting modules. The deployment included ongoing configuration work, bug fixes, enhancements, maintenance cycles and periodic upgrades, with system configuration and functional adjustments driven by business requirements captured during stakeholder interviews.
Operational coverage included Tier 2 daily support to end-users across finance and project accounting functions, and ad-hoc reporting developed using SQL Developer. Cross-functional collaboration with business groups defined project scope and implementation objectives, aligning EBS workflows and reporting to accounting, payroll adjacent processes, and project cost tracking needs.
Governance was structured around formal requirements capture and technical translation, producing business requirements documents, functional specifications, user cases, workflow and process diagrams, and data flow and data model diagrams using Excel and Visio. The IBM Maximo implementation was configured to support standard Enterprise Asset Management capabilities, including asset management, work order management, preventive maintenance scheduling, inventory control, and inspection workflows. Business requirements and detailed process designs were developed using IBM Blueworks Live, producing process blueprints, decision tables, discovery maps, and supporting documentation to guide configuration and testing.
The Maximo program was delivered alongside other IT initiatives at CoServ including eTime, ESRI GIS, and Designer for Gas, with implementation work coordinated across business stakeholders, technology teams, and support organizations. Operational coverage focused on utility business functions such as operations, maintenance, and engineering, aligning work management and asset records to utility operational needs.
Governance and rollout relied on structured business analysis practices, with the lead Business Analyst soliciting requirements through interviews, focus groups, surveys, and workshops, and maintaining end user training guides, program communication strategies, and instructional development plans.
