| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Fusion Cloud Fixed Assets | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017 CoStar Group implemented Oracle Fusion Cloud Fixed Assets as a targeted Enterprise Asset Management deployment, integrating fixed asset lifecycle management into a broader Oracle Cloud ERP program. The Oracle Fusion Cloud Fixed Assets implementation was positioned alongside core financial modules to centralize asset accounting and support corporate financial close and consolidation workflows for over 4,000 employees in North America and Europe.
The deployment configured Oracle Fusion Cloud Fixed Assets to support standard asset accounting capabilities, including capitalization, depreciation scheduling, disposals and integration with general ledger processes. Oracle Fusion Cloud Fixed Assets was implemented as a functional component within a multi-module Oracle Cloud ERP environment that included GL, Consolidation, FA, AP, Procurement, Sourcing and AR, aligning asset records with payables, procurement and financial reporting processes.
Architecturally the fixed assets implementation leveraged Oracle Integration Cloud services OIC as the centralized integration and ETL layer, enabling bidirectional data flows to and from Microsoft Dynamics ERP, Salesforce.com and other application endpoints. The project fed an enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence layer that consolidated data from over 30 systems and produced more than 250 management, financial and operational reports, ensuring asset data consistency across reporting and BI processes.
Governance and rollout were executed under a program management model reporting to the CFO, with a corporate steering committee and a structured prioritization process to align the financial systems roadmap. The implementation was part of a three year modernization roadmap, accompanied by business process reengineering, over 200 process improvements and automation measures, and a Lean Sigma training and certification program to embed continuous improvement and sustainment practices.
Explicit program outcomes included centralized asset lifecycle controls within Oracle Fusion Cloud Fixed Assets, integration via Oracle Integration Cloud services, a unified reporting foundation, and procurement and vendor selection activities that achieved stated cost savings of over $4 million. The combined program scope linked asset management, finance and procurement functions, reinforcing governance and data flows across CoStar Group’s corporate finance and operational reporting environments.
