In 2016 Crane Aerospace & Electronics implemented Oracle e-Business Suite Accounts Payable as part of an Oracle R12 rollout in its manufacturing environment. The deployment was tied to a broader Oracle R12 project accounting program, aligning accounts payable automation with project financial controls and manufacturing cost capture.
The implementation included configuration of Project Contracts, Project Management, Project Costing and Project Billing modules alongside Oracle e-Business Suite Accounts Payable, reflecting an integrated project accounting and procurement stance. As an AP Automation initiative the Oracle e-Business Suite Accounts Payable configuration supported standard invoice processing and supplier payment workflows, and was aligned with project cost capture and billing touchpoints common to manufacturing and project-driven aerospace operations.
Integrations were executed between the project modules and operational systems including Project Manufacturing, Inventory, Purchasing, Receivables, Payables, Sub Ledger Accounting and General Ledger, creating a contiguous financial and operational data flow. Operational coverage emphasized finance and accounts payable teams, project controls, procurement and manufacturing finance, supporting end to end bookkeeping from purchase to project cost allocation and billing.
Governance and rollout followed standard phases with dedicated configuration, user acceptance testing, production cutover and post production stabilization activities. Functional consulting resources supported module configuration and cross-module integration, and contributed to testing, acceptance and post production support to embed the Oracle e-Business Suite Accounts Payable functionality into Crane Aerospace & Electronics business processes.
