In 2016, CVR Energy implemented Oracle E-Business Suite. The Oracle E-Business Suite served as the companys ERP Financial platform, deployed to support enterprise financial and transactional processing overseen by the Sugar Land, TX IT applications organization.
The implementation focused on core financial management capabilities common to ERP Financial platforms, including general ledger and accounts processing and procurement workflows, while aligning with oil and gas accounting needs. Oracle E-Business Suite configurations were managed alongside other critical applications such as Maximo, RightAngle, Rack Operations, Kronos, and Concur to ensure end to end financial and operational accounting continuity. Customizations and agile development work were executed using a technology stack that included Java, JSON, ASP .NET, BO, SSIS, Web Services, and Shell scripts to support extensions and automation.
Integrations were routed through established middleware and data management layers, with explicit connections to TIBCO BusinessWorks, MDM and BPM platforms noted in operations. The implementation integrated Oracle E-Business Suite with vendor systems including ADP and P2 Bolo crude accounting, and coexisted with operational systems such as RightAngle and Rack Operations to maintain transactional consistency across finance and operations. The program also involved coordination for a data center move and security remediation activities with infrastructure, database, security and compliance teams.
Governance and operational support followed ITIL practices, with SLA driven defect triage, prioritization of enhancements and continuous improvement of processes. The IT Applications Manager role maintained stakeholder relationships, managed support and technical agile development across the estate, and standardized processes and procedures to sustain Oracle E-Business Suite as the enterprise ERP Financial system.

In 2013, CVR Energy implemented Sterling Background Check from Sterling Talent Solutions. The Sterling Background Check deployment addressed CVR Energy BackGround Screening requirements for HR and recruiting workflows and was executed as a discrete component of the companys HR and payroll systems program.
The implementation configured standard background screening functional capabilities, including candidate order initiation, screening status orchestration, results reporting, and compliance workflow integration aligned with BackGround Screening practices. Sterling Background Check was integrated into the recruiting intake and talent pipeline, with explicit interoperability planned with the Jobvite recruiting system and the broader HRIS and payroll transition work from Ceridian to ADP, and coordinated alongside Kronos time keeping efforts.
Operational ownership rested with HR and payroll program teams and was managed by an IT Project Manager and Business Analyst who produced project charters, schedules, meeting minutes, and executive status reports. The engagement reflected experience across both SaaS and on premise deployments and was coordinated as part of multiple simultaneous HR implementations including talent management, learning management, and recruitment modules.
Governance emphasized structured rollout controls, stakeholder sign off, and concurrent project coordination rather than isolated change efforts, with documented scope, risks, and budgetary authority guiding the Sterling Background Check integration. Implementation activities focused on embedding screening into recruiting and HR workflows while maintaining alignment with parallel payroll and time keeping initiatives.

| IBM | Legacy | IBM Maximo | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, CVR Energy implemented IBM Maximo as its Enterprise Asset Management platform to centralize maintenance and reliability applications across its sites. The Manager, Maintenance Applications role was created to cultivate business relationships with maintenance and reliability functional leads, and to lead delivery of application centric solutions that support the companys maintenance and reliability requirements.
The implementation scope emphasized full Maximo module coverage and configuration, with the manager accountable for production of all Maximo related modules and interfaces required by the business. Core Enterprise Asset Management capabilities referenced in governance and hiring requirements include work order management, asset hierarchy and registers, preventive maintenance scheduling, inventory and spare parts management, and CMMS oriented reporting and analytics, with hands on development experience expected on IBM Maximo versions 6.x and 7.x and proficiency using SQL and developer tooling.
Integrations were coordinated internally within Maximo and with other business applications, with explicit collaboration required across Operations, Engineering, Finance, Procurement and shared services. The role drives interface development and testing, supports troubleshooting and debugging of end user programs, and acts as the focal point for production support and integration points across all sites.
Governance responsibilities emphasized IT process strategy, service management and change management, including incident, problem and change management disciplines and formal software release processes. The manager leads analysis, design, modeling, testing and implementation activities, oversees vendors and contractors when required, mentors staff to raise competencies, and enforces performance levels while directing continuous improvement of the application development process.
Architecturally the role maintains an enterprise application architecture with a high level visual schematic of key systems and business flows, and retains knowledge of the underlying Maximo database schema, APIs, tables and views as the basis for troubleshooting, data conversion and reporting support. Responsibilities also include documenting existing procedures and operating methods, defining data requirements, and driving lifecycle activities from requirements analysis through deployment and production support.
