In 2017, dB Broadcast implemented Capita Workforce Management to address core Workforce Management needs across HR, time and attendance, and job costing. The deployment centralized time capture and project tracking to support up to 250 employees working on multiple projects across the country and to provide operational visibility for field and office teams.
The implementation included Time & Attendance, Mobile App, Self Service, HR and Job Costing modules within Capita Workforce Management. Biometric terminals were installed to record time for staff based at the head office and larger-scale sites, while the Mobile App and Self Service portal were configured to support remote clocking and activity selection.
A piece of bespoke development and configuration was added to the Self Service module to allow employees to change tasks and activities and to retain location context, enabling smartphone clocking that captures what and where people are working. Job Costing was a prioritized capability, instrumented to provide visibility of task-level effort across projects so operational planners could forecast future project elements and schedule appropriate resource levels.
Operationally the rollout shifted timesheet collection from manual chasing to system-captured biometric and mobile records, and restructured task entry workflows by empowering employees to update activities in Self Service. The implementation therefore changed day-to-day time capture and task reporting processes for HR, operations and project management teams, reducing the need to chase timesheets and improving task-level visibility for scheduling and forecasting.
