Microsoft Legacy Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2016 2018
In 2016 DCH Auto Group implemented Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) to centralize analytics and reporting across dealer sales and digital lead channels, aligning the deployment with the Analytics and BI category. The engagement focused on building a SQL Server based BI stack that supported reporting, ETL, dimensional modeling, and operational report delivery for sales and marketing workflows. The implementation included SSIS package development to handle slowly changing dimensions, and creation of an SSIS DB catalog on SQL Server 2012 to support package deployments from SQL Server Management Studio with environment variables scoped to each environment. SSIS packages and SQL Agent jobs were scheduled to automate data loads and dimension maintenance, while Entity Framework 4.0 was used to implement a data access layer for application-level data interactions. Database objects including stored procedures, user defined functions, common table expressions and views were developed to support reporting and ETL requirements. Reporting and visualization work leveraged SQL Server Reporting Services and Crystal Reports, with SSRS used to design and develop operational and analytical reports. Specific report artifacts delivered included bar charts for Conversion Rates required to achieve SPE, Opportunity Sales Traffic and Web Traffic bar in bar charts, and a Sales Funnel Chart for Internet and Phone channels showing stages Lead, Contacted, Appointment, Show, Closed. SSRS reports were generated to specification to support sales performance analysis and web-to-sales attribution. Governance and operational processes emphasized environment-aware deployments and scheduled ETL orchestration, with SSIS catalog configurations and environment variables enforcing consistent behavior across development and production. The implementation tied Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) to business functions in sales, internet lead management and marketing analytics, establishing a repeatable deployment and reporting cadence for ongoing report maintenance and data refresh operations.
