In 2019, Deloitte Italy implemented SAP S/4 HANA, a program categorized as ERP Financial, migrating from Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. The S/4 HANA implementation targeted core financial and reporting processes for the Italy practice and was executed with dedicated program roles including a Data Migration LEAD, Hypercare Lead, Change Request Manager and Service Desk Lead to manage the transition and ongoing support.
Data migration was treated as a distinct workstream, with the Data Migration LEAD owning end to end responsibility for analysis, mapping, transfer and validation of migrated data into SAP S/4 HANA. Deliverables cited in the implementation included production of mapping templates for all data in scope, gap analysis for missing and archived records, data cleansing plans to address as is data quality issues, and the development and oversight of data validation scripts to ensure the validity of migration processes and outcomes.
Configuration and localization work addressed Italian legal and fiscal requirements and Deloitte DCM specific organizational data models, with S/4 HANA tickets tracked for Italian specific regulations and organizational specifics. Functional coverage aligned to ERP Financial patterns and included master data consolidation, transactional financial posting workflows and reporting configurations adapted to local compliance and organizational reporting needs.
Operational integrations and support processes were centered on ServiceNow for incident and ticket management, and coordination with the Global Contact Center to escalate incidents, share work around documentation and notify support teams of known issues. Early production support used War Rooms and daily hypercare calls led by the Hypercare Lead to triage high priority tickets, drive status reporting and manage the formal handover from hypercare into BAU support while the Service Desk led first line incident, problem, change and new request management.
Governance incorporated a Change Advisory Board and emergency CAB oversight managed by the Change Request Manager, with a formal change queue and release plan to minimize business impact. Hypercare standards included defined exit criteria, structured ticket triage and proactive stakeholder communication intended to reduce time to resolution during the post go live stabilization period.
