In 2015 the Department of Finance WA implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial platform for a large and complex multi business unit program. The engagement ran for nine months, used a large delivery team, and addressed cross agency financial control and reporting requirements across the department. Fusion Apps delivered the implementation and extensions in line with the program timeline.
The implementation of Oracle E-Business Suite encompassed core ERP Financial capabilities typical for the category, including configurable general ledger and financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable workflows, procurement related transaction processing, and extensions to support state government accounting rules. Fusion Apps reused and adapted solutions and extensions previously built for other State Agencies, which reduced bespoke development and supported faster configuration and testing cycles. The project included functional configuration, workflow orchestration, and custom extensions where standard configuration did not meet complex requirements.
Oracle Business Intelligence and Integration components were delivered alongside Oracle E-Business Suite to provide consolidated reporting and an integration layer for transactional data. The integration scope focused on consolidating financial data streams and instrumenting business intelligence reports to serve multiple business units and operational stakeholders. The combined Oracle E-Business Suite and Business Intelligence architecture supported department level financial consolidation and operational reporting across the implemented modules.
Governance followed a program level rollout with structured requirements intake, staged configuration, and reuse driven design review to manage complexity across business units. Fusion Apps reported completion on time and on budget, and reuse of prebuilt extensions was highlighted as a mechanism for cost savings. Multiple Oracle ERP E-Business solutions were delivered to meet the stated complex ERP needs of the Department of Finance WA.
