In 2017, Deutsche Bank India implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its core ERP Financial platform for Finance and Accounting across its India operations. The implementation configured SAP FICO capabilities, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank Accounting, withholding tax processing, and direct and indirect tax handling. The deployment also addressed profit center and cost center accounting, cost element accounting and Internal Orders, while provisioning Procure to Pay workflows with master data management, requisition, purchase order, invoicing, payments and approval workflow controls.
Integrations reflected cross-functional connectivity to Travel and Expense tooling such as SAP Concur and to procurement platforms such as Coupa, supported by formally developed interface specifications and custom report development. Operational instrumentation and alert monitoring were implemented using tools referenced in project experience, including Aternity, SAP Solution Manager and AppDynamics to support runtime monitoring and issue escalation.
Governance and operational processes incorporated ITIL practices for service level management, change management, incident management and problem management, alongside embedded risk and control checkpoints. Testing and rollout activities followed structured cycles including test case preparation, unit testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, role testing and end-to-end testing, with development teams producing interface and reporting specifications for sustained support.
