Block, Inc. Legacy Square Retail POS Point Of Sale ERP Services and Operations n/a 2017 2017
In 2017 Due South implemented Square Retail POS, deploying Square for Retail together with Square Register, Loyalty, Marketing, and Payroll. The Point Of Sale implementation centralized in-store checkout, inventory management, and customer loyalty within the Lafayette, Colorado boutique. The deployment used Square Retail POS as the unified application for transactional and inventory data across sales channels. Square Retail POS was configured to manage inventory catalogs, real-time stock tracking, and unified pricing, while Square Register provided the hardware layer for checkout. The implementation incorporated Square Loyalty for program enrollment and rewards, Square Marketing for customer outreach and campaign execution, and Square Payroll to automate payroll and basic HR processes. Functional workflows were aligned so that sales transactions, inventory adjustments, loyalty accruals, and payroll inputs flowed through the central Square product suite. Operational coverage explicitly included inventory, payroll/HR, and marketing processes in Lafayette, Colorado, enabling omnichannel sales through shared inventory data. During the 2020 pandemic Due South pivoted to an online store using existing Square inventory data to accelerate e-commerce availability. The case study reports a 71% increase in sales following the Square-based implementation, and governance centralized transactional reconciliation and promotional workflows into the Square applications.
