In 2017, Dufry implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as its Core HR application to support Human Resources operational processes across the organization. The deployment established a centralized HRIS framework to manage employee master data and life-cycle workflows, with configuration and roll-out activities coordinated between central HR and country HR specialists. Implementation tasks focused on HRIS workflow configuration, module roll-out sequencing, structured testing, and the production of user guides and training materials. Ownership for training and ongoing user support was assigned to central HR while country HR specialists and business leaders received targeted enablement for local processes.
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central was configured to manage position data and organizational structure changes, ensure data maintenance and accuracy of organizational and people data, and to govern the end-to-end employee life-cycle. Functional capabilities implemented included onboarding, objective setting and performance review workflows, plus support for annual salary review and variable pay processes. The program included testing and analysis of HR KPI data available in the HRIS, and preparation and roll-out of HR KPI reports to standardize reporting across countries.
Operational coverage extended to country HR teams and business leaders across Dufry's footprint, with day-to-day HRIS administration focused on position management, organizational change entries, and KPI reporting. The implementation delivered structured testing and analytic validation of HR KPI outputs from SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central to support HR reporting workflows. Employee engagement activities were supported through updated onboarding sessions, survey implementation, and facilitation of engagement workshops tied to HRIS data.
Governance and process changes included coordination of communications, documentation updates, and training to support annual HR cycle processes and variable pay administration. The HRIS team supported organizational change programs in collaboration with the Organization Competency Center, country HR and business leaders, evaluating people-related change processes, compiling as is and to be data, and tracking implementation status. The HRIS also provided support for furlough and restructuring programs during the Covid-19 pandemic, including coordination of collective redundancy procedures.

| SAP | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | SAP Retail | Retail Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2018 | 2019 |
In 2018 Dufry implemented SAP Retail in the United Kingdom as a finance-led ERP initiative, deploying SAP Retail to centralize retail finance processes across its UK estate. The program targeted the UK business and delivered SAP FI ERP (Retail) functionality into more than 100 UK stores, establishing the implementation context within the Retail Management category.
The implementation focused on SAP FICO as the primary finance module set, configuring SAP FICO and SAP FI ERP (Retail) capabilities to support core finance workflows typical of the category, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Configuration work emphasized finance configuration items such as chart of accounts alignment and fiscal period management to accommodate store-level retail transactions under SAP Retail.
A strategic data migration process was developed to transfer finance data from Oracle to SAP, providing the explicit integration pathway used during cutover. The migration work addressed finance data transfer needs between Oracle and SAP to facilitate the SAP FI ERP (Retail) go-live across the 100+ store footprint in the UK, creating the technical conduit for finance master and transactional record consolidation.
The deployment involved consolidation decisions against an existing SAP ERP ECC 6.0 footprint and coordinated Oracle to SAP transfers, with governance concentrated on migration sequencing and cutover coordination for store rollouts. Dufry SAP Retail Retail Management finance operations were therefore unified under SAP Retail, with the relationship between Company, Application, Category, and Business Function documented through the SAP FI ERP (Retail) implementation.
