| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019 Dunelm Group implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform. The program centered on migrating the SAP landscape to the HANA in-memory database then on boarding SAP S/4 HANA, with a specific focus on managing HANA memory footprint and associated costs. Implementation planning included preparing SAP ECC in readiness for the HANA migration and S/4 HANA conversion. The deployment prioritized platform level decisions around HANA sizing and data lifecycle strategies.
SAP S/4 HANA was configured to deliver core ERP Financial functionality including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial close orchestration and cash management workflows. Configuration emphasis aligned with the ERP Financial category, optimizing accounting master data, period end processes and real time ledgers enabled by the SAP S/4 HANA architecture. Standard S/4 HANA financial ledgers and controlling capabilities were part of the implementation scope.
The migration sequence required extraction and consolidation of transactional data from ECC into the HANA environment prior to S/4 HANA activation, driving integration workstreams around data conversion, validation and archival. Operational coverage concentrated on finance and treasury processes across Dunelm Group, with cross functional touchpoints for master data, procurement billing interfaces and reporting consumption. The deployment relied on the HANA in-memory layer as the primary database tier supporting SAP S/4 HANA application services.
Governance emphasized data archiving and retention policies to reduce HANA memory footprint, aligning technical configuration with finance process owners for cutover and post go live stabilization. Rollout activities combined ECC preparation, data archiving execution and phased S/4 HANA activation to minimize transactional disruption. The implementation narrative highlights planning for HANA memory cost management as a central consideration throughout the SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial program.

In 2022, Dunelm Group deployed Eploy Applicant Tracking System. The implementation used Eploy Applicant Tracking System as the core of an Applicant Tracking System,Candidate Relationship Management initiative to consolidate candidate sourcing, application processing and relationship management for Dunelm's recruitment function.
The implementation delivered a new careers site tightly coupled to the ATS, a career finder tool to surface role matches, and persona-driven candidate personalization to improve discovery of relevant opportunities. Web accessibility tooling from Recite Me was embedded to ensure access for all candidates across the career site. Functional capabilities emphasized CRM-style candidate engagement, application tracking, and career-site routing into structured talent pipelines.
Dunelm worked with vendor Eploy and agency Havas People to align brand communication with talent attraction and to design the candidate journey by persona. The careers site was fully integrated to the Eploy ATS and Recruitment CRM to reduce administration and provide a seamless candidate experience. Integrations concentrated on automated application capture, centralized candidate records, and orchestrated communication workflows between the careers site, the ATS and recruitment CRM for talent acquisition and HR operations.
Operational ownership resided with Dunelm's talent acquisition and employer brand teams, who restructured content and workflows to support persona-based journeys and centralized CRM processes. Governance emphasized accessibility compliance via Recite Me and coordinated communication standards, while the implementation focused on engaging diverse candidate audiences and delivering a more personalised career exploration experience through the career finder tool.
