| FIS Global | Legacy | FIS Integrated Payables | AP Automation | ERP | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Duquesne Light implemented FIS Integrated Payables as a targeted AP Automation solution supporting finance and treasury operations. FIS Integrated Payables was positioned to centralize accounts payable workflows and to interface with Duquesne Light Company finance systems within the broader Oracle Apps Utility Suite environment.
The implementation focused on AP Automation functional capabilities typical for the category, including electronic invoice capture and validation, payment orchestration and scheduling, supplier payment workflows, and automated posting into the utility accounting ledger. Configuration and module selection emphasized alignment with existing Oracle financials and utility billing cycles to preserve chart of accounts and period close discipline.
Integration workstreams were organized around the Oracle Apps Utility Suite integration surface and existing DLC finance and treasury processes, ensuring AP transaction and general ledger flows were reconciled with enterprise accounting. Technical architecture included service-level connections between the FIS Integrated Payables platform and DLC ERP financial interfaces, and integration testing was conducted to validate invoice-to-payment lifecycles and GL posting accuracy.
Governance was led by a Senior Program Manager contractor who provided strategic direction, vendor management, and coordination of complex work streams to align with Duquesne Light stakeholder objectives. Rollout emphasis was on finance and treasury teams, with phased deployment and stakeholder alignment to minimize operational disruption and preserve existing Oracle financial controls.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016, Duquesne Light implemented SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as its Core HR platform. The implementation centered on consolidating employee master data, position management, and self service capabilities to support HR and line manager processes across the utility.
The rollout included multiple SAP SuccessFactors modules, specifically Employee Central, Performance and Goals, Recruiting and Onboarding, Position Management, Employee Self Service and Manager Self Service. Configuration work focused on position structures, role based permission determination, data requirement definitions and completion of SAP SuccessFactors workbooks, while the HRIS and analytics lead provided business and technical direction to the implementation team.
Operational coverage spanned HR and IT teams, with the HRIS function acting as people systems architect to integrate HR, payroll, benefits and other systems related to managing people and contingent workers. The program included data conversion, migration planning, contingency planning and cutover orchestration, with the technical lead advising consultants on technical requirements and leading system development and testing with the HR team.
Governance and process restructuring were formalized through business process mapping from existing to new flows, project roadmaps for each module and phased rollout planning. Post implementation management responsibilities were established for prioritizing system changes, defect resolution and vendor upgrade coordination to support ongoing stabilization and continuous improvement of Core HR capabilities.

In 2015, Duquesne Light deployed IBM Maximo for Enterprise Asset Management to support utility asset lifecycle and work order processes. The IBM Maximo implementation focused on operational maintenance, preventive maintenance scheduling, work order management, and outage coordination across utility operations, provisioned on a highly redundant infrastructure architecture.
The deployment configured core Enterprise Asset Management capabilities including asset registry, work order orchestration, preventive maintenance scheduling, and outage management workflows. Duquesne Light integrated IBM Maximo with standard CMMS functional flows for maintenance planning and field service coordination, and leveraged automation for scheduled maintenance and work order assignments.
Infrastructure supporting IBM Maximo was coordinated as part of the deployment, including Oracle Exadata installations and upgrades, EMC Upsilon arrays deployed to both colocation and DR site with full replication, Cisco UCS with Pure Storage backend, and a Xen OVM virtualization footprint with an engineering path toward KVM. Backup and archival technologies referenced during the program included EMC Avamar, IDPA, IBM Spectrum/TSM, and Isilon clusters, and the environment ran a mix of IBM AIX and RHEL hosts managed via Red Hat Satellite, all to provide availability and data protection for the application.
Operational governance centered on day to day support and coordination of company policies, infrastructure, planned outages, and deployments by Duquesne Light systems engineering staff. The IBM Maximo rollout operated within a CIP environment, with explicit management practices to ensure regulatory and cybersecurity protections were maintained during ongoing upgrades and infrastructure changes.
