In 2022, eFulfillment Service implemented ShipWise OMS, an Order Management application, with a go live on October 27, 2022. The United States implementation targeted modernization of order management and shipping operations across the company, focusing on transactional order processing and shipping orchestration. Deployment used an on premises DSX app integrated via ODBC to the company database to enable direct data access for order and shipment records.
ShipWise OMS was configured to manage order lifecycle orchestration and shipping rate shopping, concentrating on automated carrier selection and rate comparison at shipment creation. Configuration emphasized order routing, shipment consolidation rules, and rate shopping logic to support peak season throughput, aligned with Order Management functional workflows. The implementation preserved operational control within fulfillment and shipping teams while automating decision points that previously required manual intervention.
Integration via ODBC into the on premises DSX application provided near real time order ingestion and shipping rate queries, enabling tighter coupling between order data and carrier pricing. Operational scope included fulfillment operations and customer support, with process changes to carrier selection and support escalation procedures that improved responsiveness. The deployment produced a 19.8% year over year increase in shipment volume during peak season, and was reported to reduce shipping costs and improve support responsiveness.
