Operational scope covered HR and payroll administration across Elektro-Material AG in Switzerland, enabling HR to shift effort toward advisory activities and enabling subsequent rollouts such as personnel planning. Governance and rollout were partner led, with configuration and workflow automation designed to standardize approvals, document handling and employee self service access.

In 2018, Elektro-Material implemented Informatica Data Quality alongside Informatica MDM Product 360 within a Data Warehouse initiative to centralize and govern product master data for its omnichannel business. Elektro-Material operates EM.Webshop as its primary growth channel, manages roughly 300,000 SKUs sourced from about 900 suppliers, and maintains a five person product data team responsible for catalog onboarding, enrichment, and distribution to downstream channels.
The deployment combined Informatica Data Quality with Informatica MDM Product 360 and the Informatica Business Process Management option to automate product onboarding, attribute enrichment, and quality validation. The solution uses a web client for broader stakeholder access, supports multilingual attribute sets in German, French, and Italian, and enforces embedded quality checks to standardize data at ingestion, including support for BMEcat formatted supplier catalogs.
Operational integration focused on programmatic flows from supplier catalogs into the MDM hub and then onward to the ERP that feeds EM.Webshop, procurement interfaces, and e-catalog exports for client ERP systems. Catalog ingestion and attribute mapping were automated to enable entire supplier catalogs to be onboarded in hours rather than months, accelerating time to market for new products and reducing manual spreadsheet processing.
Governance and process changes were implemented using the Business Process Management option to formalize supplier onboarding, product maintenance workflows, and cross-team handoffs, with Informatica Data Quality driving automated validation rules. Outcomes explicitly reported by Elektro-Material include a doubling of digital channel sales over two years, at least fourfold faster time to market for new product launches, automated onboarding of catalogs from 900 suppliers, and a five person team continuing to manage 300,000 SKUs while preparing to absorb an expected eightfold increase in product data.
