In 2021, Ascential Group implemented SAP S/4HANA Cloud as the core component of a global finance transformation. The deployment used SAP S/4HANA Cloud multi-tenant architecture to centralize finance processes and provide a single cloud ERP Financial backbone for a global user base.
As an ERP Financial deployment the programme emphasized standard finance modules including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, intercompany accounting and period close orchestration. Configuration work focused on chart of accounts alignment, master data governance, role based access controls and automation of financial close workflows to support consolidated reporting and month end processes.
The programme ran alongside Salesforce platform initiatives under a combined platforms remit, and the SAP S/4HANA Cloud rollout targeted the finance organization, accounting teams and consolidated reporting functions across Ascential. Operational coverage was global in scope and centered on finance process harmonization and organizational change to align teams to the new cloud ERP Financial model.
Programme governance was led by a Programme Director from March 2021 through August 2023, managing release cadence and delivery to plan and cost for each committed release. The effort included process and organizational change workstreams and sustained executive sponsorship and management support throughout the delivery lifecycle.

In 2021, Ascential Group deployed FileSpin DAM to support its events and publishing teams in the United Kingdom. FileSpin DAM, a Digital Asset Management solution, was provisioned to manage, process and deliver large volumes of event media for global websites and online events within the marketing and events area.
The implementation emphasized core Digital Asset Management capabilities, including asset ingestion, metadata cataloging, automated video transcoding, and content delivery orchestration. FileSpin DAM’s documented module usage for video transcoding, CDN delivery and API-based integrations was applied to standardize media processing pipelines and to enable programmatic delivery to external channels.
API-based integrations were used to connect FileSpin DAM to Ascential’s web properties and online event platforms, enabling push and pull workflows for media distribution. CDN delivery and transcoding modules were configured to support multi-format distribution for global websites, while metadata and cataloging functions supported searchable access for publishing teams.
Governance focused on centralized asset cataloging, standardized metadata taxonomies and defined handoffs between events, publishing and marketing operations. The rollout targeted events and publishing users first, aligning workflow orchestration with existing content production schedules to reduce manual exchange of large media files.
The documented outcome was improved media workflow and delivery for Ascential’s marketing and events area, with FileSpin DAM used to streamline processing and distribution of event media across global web channels.
