In 2022, Empire Airlines implemented eTT SkedFlex Flight Planning. The deployment brought eTT SkedFlex Flight Planning into production for dispatching flights under 14 CFR part 121, and integrated the application with the SkedFlex Air Operations Suite to serve as the airline's Flight Management capability for planning and dispatch.
The implementation configured core flight planning and dispatching modules, enabling flight planners and dispatchers to set up environment-specific workflows and business rules. eTT SkedFlex Flight Planning leverages algorithmic route and altitude optimization and configurable profiles to calculate flight plans, and the system underwent acceptance testing focused on plan accuracy and setup ease.
Integration was explicitly with the SkedFlex Air Operations Suite, consolidating flight planning into the broader air operations stack and aligning with eTT's acquisition of Eagle Cap Software in 2020 to add mission critical flight planning and dispatch functionality. Operational coverage centers on Empire Airlines' Part 121 dispatch operations, supporting its cargo and ACMI services from Hayden, Idaho within the United States.
Governance and rollout were executed by dispatch and scheduling teams with configuration handled during acceptance testing, and Empire served as the launch customer for SkedFlex Flight Planning in production. Empire reported that dispatching Part 121 flights became faster and more accurate after go-live, and eTT noted ongoing enhancements to adapt SkedFlex Flight Planning for long haul and international operator requirements.
