In 2009, Energy Northwest implemented Oracle PeopleSoft ERP to centralize Human Resources and Financial Management functions across the organization. The deployment positioned Oracle PeopleSoft ERP as the ERP Financial backbone for the utility, combining PeopleSoft Human Capital Management and PeopleSoft Financials into a unified application footprint.
The implementation developed and supports Oracle PeopleSoft Human Capital Management 9.2 with functional modules for Human Resources, Benefits Administration, Time and Labor, Payroll for North America, Candidate Gateway, Talent Acquisition, ePerformance, Employee Self Service, and Manager Self Service. Financial Management capabilities were delivered on PeopleSoft Financials 9.1, implemented with Asset Management (AM), General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable with Business Intelligence (AR/BI), and Project Costing (PC).
Operational coverage included HR and finance business functions across Energy Northwest, with payroll processing scoped for North America and employee self-service workflows for staff. The Oracle PeopleSoft ERP environment centralized transactional HR workflows, supported payroll accounting flows into the General Ledger, managed talent acquisition lifecycles, and provided project and asset accounting for financial operations.
Governance relied on an internal application development and support model to develop and support PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 and Financials 9.1, with role based security, configuration management, and formal change control for application updates. The program emphasized clear module ownership between HR and Finance and integration of HR to finance processes to sustain ongoing operational support rather than a transient implementation.
