SAP Legacy SAP ERP ECC 6.0 ERP Financial ERP n/a 2014 2014
In 2014, EnerSys configured SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the core ERP Financial platform and aligned it with SAP MII to connect finance with manufacturing operations. The initiative centered on establishing a centralized financial system for corporate accounting while enabling operational data flows from plant systems through SAP MII. Implementation work emphasized classical ERP Financial capabilities, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Cost Center Accounting, and Controlling, with configuration of fiscal variants, chart of accounts, and master data harmonization. Design and development activities included detailed business process analysis to map existing finance and plant accounting workflows into SAP ERP ECC 6.0, and to define required configuration, validation rules, and posting logic. Integration architecture focused on tight coupling between SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and SAP MII, enabling transactional handoffs for inventory valuation, production confirmations, and cost collection from shop floor systems into the ERP Financial ledger. Operational coverage extended across finance, procurement, supply chain, and manufacturing operations, with SAP MII serving as the operational bridge between plant-level data and enterprise financial postings. Governance activities documented the analysis of business processes for design and development of SAP ERP ECC 6.0 and SAP MII systems, establishing change control, role based access for financial workflows, and structured testing and user acceptance cycles. EnerSys treated the implementation as both a systems configuration and process redesign effort, embedding process maps and control points into the ERP Financial deployment to support ongoing financial operations and plant accounting.

SAP Legacy SAP SuccessFactors Compensation Compensation Management HCM n/a 2017 2018
In 2017 EnerSys implemented SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as its Compensation Management solution across its global operations. The project was led by a Global Compensation Systems Manager, covered all EnerSys locations in 40 countries, and was completed on time and successfully while establishing SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as the HR system of record for roughly 10,000 employees. The deployment focused on the SAP SuccessFactors Compensation module alongside the Variable Pay module, with configuration of functional capabilities including annual salary increase templates, discretionary bonus templates, management incentive plan templates, and pay for performance templates. Administrators developed custom calculations and templates to support country-level salary recommendations, and ran compensation analysis and salary market data regressions to build local pay structures and salary bands. Operational integration tied SAP SuccessFactors Compensation to SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central for core employee data and HRIS workflows, with global template administration managed centrally. The implementation supported business functions across HR, regional HR teams, HR business partners, and management, enabling compensation program administration, new hire and retention adjustments, and incentive payout processing across the multinational footprint. Governance and process responsibilities were formalized through central administration of templates and annual review workflows, management of the annual Management Incentive Plan process with data integrity and payout controls, and involvement of the Compensation Committee for approvals. Job and role evaluations were supervised using Hay Group and Korn Ferry grading methodologies to ensure consistent slotting, and the Global Compensation Systems Manager provided ongoing compensation counsel to management and HR stakeholders.

Cardano Legacy Cardano Blockhain Blockchain Platform Blockchain n/a 2020 2020
In 2020, EnerSys implemented Cardano Blockhain as a Blockchain Platform to pilot Smart Battery Passports in collaboration with Unbox and the Battery Innovation Center of Indiana, leveraging prior proof of concept work. The initiative frames Cardano Blockhain as the underlying distributed ledger for on-chain digital passports, with a defined project duration of 10 months and a funding request of 1,300,000 ada for development and scaling activities. The implementation centers on Smart Battery Passports and Smart Tokens, combined with Zero Knowledge Technology to enable selective data disclosure while preserving privacy. Cardano Blockhain hosts immutable identifiers and tokenized artifacts for each battery, and the project commits protocol components to open source by extending Unbox s Infinity Protocol, allowing community inspection and extension of on-chain logic and credential schemas. Operational coverage targets supply chain data sharing across Enersys and its ecosystem partners, positioning the solution for compliance with stated EU 2026 regulations that require standardized public sharing of battery data. Business functions impacted include supply chain traceability, compliance and regulatory reporting, sustainability tracking, and R D workflows, with Unbox noting no external technical dependencies for project delivery. Governance and process changes are focused on selective sharing controls and privacy preserving attestations, using Zero Knowledge Technology to balance transparency and data confidentiality. Outputs are planned to be fully open source, the proposal duration is 10 months, and the scope is explicitly centered on creating a scalable, on-chain Smart Battery Passport implementation on Cardano Blockhain as a Blockchain Platform.
