In 2017, Engie Mexico implemented SAP S/4 HANA as part of an ERP Financial migration from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to an SAP HANA based core. The engagement centered on replatforming transactional finance and customer billing processes into SAP S/4 HANA, with the implementation explicitly scoped to IS-U billing and invoicing functions.
The implementation delivered SAP S/4 HANA IS-U module configuration for Billing and Invoicing, including Calculation and Billing process support and end user enablement. Work focused on mapping billing schemas, configuring calculation rules, and orchestrating recurring and mass billing runs within SAP S/4 HANA, while maintaining customer master and contract data consistency.
Operational coverage emphasized support to billing and customer service teams, where the functional leader provided day to day application support for IS-U modules and handled inquiries during and after cutover. Integration activities were limited to aligning IS-U billing flows with the core SAP S/4 HANA financial ledger and shared master data services, preserving transactional continuity across invoicing and receivables.
Governance was organized around a functional IS-U lead role who drove configuration decisions, validated billing calculations, and coordinated end user support and knowledge transfer. The project narrative records hands on support to end users in Billing and Invoicing, reflecting a governed rollout focused on operational stabilization rather than an external systems replacement narrative.
