In 2020, Equiniti implemented Workday Financial Management as part of a global Workday project in the ERP Financial category. The program delivered during the Coronavirus lockdown replaced Unit4 Business World and a heavily customised, fragmented estate of microsystems that had been supporting HR, Finance and Payroll functions.
Workday Financial Management was deployed as the finance component of the broader Workday footprint, with configuration centered on cross functional financial workflows and employee self service activities. The implementation effort documented some 120 distinct user functions that employees would need to perform, and configuration work emphasized role based task flows and just in time guidance to support everyday finance and operational activities typical of ERP Financial systems.
Equiniti targeted adoption across 5,000 employees in five countries, recognizing that behavioral resistance and attachments to legacy ways of working were primary risks to go live effectiveness. To address this, the project team used Method Grid to host simple, searchable and accessible how to guides, replacing nested PowerPoint slide decks in SharePoint and providing a centralized knowledge layer aligned to the Workday Financial Management rollout.
Governance for the rollout combined an engagement led adoption journey with structured content curation for the 120 functions, enabling business process owners to maintain bite sized operational guidance. The initiative focused on embedding procedural knowledge and searchable assistance within operational flows to drive consistent use of Workday Financial Management across finance and adjacent business functions.

In 2020, Equiniti implemented Workday HCM as a global Core HR platform to consolidate a heavily customised and fragmented estate of microsystems used for HR, Finance and Payroll. The global Workday HCM rollout was executed during the Coronavirus lockdown and covered about 5,000 people across five countries, requiring remote-first delivery and adoption planning.
Workday HCM was configured to support everyday employee tasks including recording leave, searching peoples’ contact details and booking time to projects, reflecting Core HR functional workflows such as absence management, employee directory and time tracking. The program identified approximately 120 discrete user functions that needed task-level guidance, and configuration prioritized simplifying those routines within the Workday HCM user experience.
To drive adoption the implementation engaged Method Grid to provide an enablement and knowledge layer, hosting simple how-to guides that were digestible, searchable and accessible as just-in-time support for end users. The change program moved away from PowerPoint slide decks stored in nested SharePoint folders to Method Grid-hosted guidance, aligning the enablement content with operational HR processes and day-to-day workflows in Workday HCM.
Governance emphasized an engagement journey with targeted communications and user assistance to overcome entrenched local practices and encourage consistent use of Workday HCM across functions and geographies. The project was successfully delivered globally in 2020 and the integration of Method Grid into the rollout provided an authorable, searchable operational knowledge base for the Core HR application.
