In 2014 Estee Lauder Brasil implemented Oracle Absence Management as its Absence and Leave Management solution to formalize Leave of Absence and related absence processes within the local HR service delivery model. The deployment was positioned within the broader Hire to Retire workstream of Global HR Operations, aligning Brazil absence workflows with global standards while allowing local adjustments for legal and regulatory requirements.
Oracle Absence Management was configured to support core absence and leave capabilities including leave request and approval workflows, absence tracking and entitlements, case management for intermittent and continuous leaves, and scripted User Acceptance Testing to validate functional and reporting requirements. Configuration work emphasized standard desktop procedures and training content, reflecting the programmatic approach used by the Global HR Transformation team to standardize New Hire, Transfers, Separations and Leave of Absence processes.
Integrations were implemented to connect Oracle Absence Management with the companys functional Oracle EBS system and with Taleo as part of end to end HR process orchestration, ensuring consistent employee master data and transactional handoffs across recruiting, core HR records and absence management. The integration focus was on data synchronization for employee status, effective dates and approvals, and on enabling downstream reporting and case resolution across HR and shared services.
Governance and rollout followed a controlled model driven by Global HR Operations, including a tiered approval process for deviations based on legal or critical business requirements, global User Acceptance Testing coordination, and training and change management for HR partners, shared services teams and managers in the region. Ongoing continuous improvement and standardized documentation such as desktop procedures and quick reference guides were managed through established governance to maintain process consistency across the Absence and Leave Management domain.
