| Workday | Legacy | Workday Absence Management | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | n/a | 2025 | 2025 |
In 2025, Estia Health implemented Workday Absence Management as part of a broader cloud HR deployment. The implementation of Workday Absence Management sits within the Absence and Leave Management category and was delivered alongside Workday modules for Recruitment, Compensation and Core HCM.
Workday Absence Management was configured to manage leave plans, absence requests, approval workflows and balance calculations, with configuration aligned to Core HCM worker records. The deployment leveraged Workday Studio for integration development and the tenant was instrumented to support standard absence processing, entitlement calculations and absence reporting.
Integrations were established to Chris21, Human force for time and attendance, Zipline for background checks, OKTA for single sign on, Active Directory, Azure Middleware and a centralized Data Warehouse. The integration architecture used Azure Middleware and Workday Studio to orchestrate inbound and outbound feeds for absence status, time punch reconciliation and master data synchronization, while the Data Warehouse consumed absence and headcount feeds for downstream analytics. Project execution and quality tracking used Jira, Zephyr and Confluence for requirements traceability, test management and documentation.
Testing and governance were formalized under a Test Manager who established testing processes and standards, developed test strategies and plans for data migration testing, end to end testing, system integration testing and user acceptance testing. Daily defect triages, coordinated test scheduling across releases, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation of business process workshops were core governance activities to ensure traceability of requirements and quality of test deliverables.
The implementation impacted HR operations, recruitment and compensation workflows, time and attendance reconciliation and background check processes, with engagement from product owners and stakeholders across the organization. Documentation of end to end business flows and ongoing management of testing activities supported operational readiness and continual service management for absence handling.

In 2021 Estia Health implemented Microsoft 365 as its Collaboration platform across its Australian operations. The deployment targeted enterprise productivity and communication needs for roughly 14,000 employees and began with tenant provisioning, user licensing, and centralized account configuration.
The Microsoft 365 rollout configured core Collaboration capabilities including enterprise email, Teams-based communication, SharePoint document management, and OneDrive user storage, aligned to standard Microsoft 365 functional modules. Configuration activities emphasized tenant-level architecture, site topology for SharePoint, Teams governance settings, and conditional access patterns to support secure collaboration and content lifecycle management.
Operational scope covered clinical administration, corporate services, and facility management groups across Estia Health aged care sites in Australia, with user identity and access consolidated into the Microsoft 365 tenant to enable single sign-on and centralized directory management. The implementation supported web-facing collaboration features used on their public site and internal portals through Microsoft 365 content and authentication flows.
Governance work included license management, staged user onboarding, administrator role definition, and documented Teams and SharePoint governance policies to standardize workflows and compliance controls. Microsoft 365 was instrumented to serve as the primary Collaboration platform for day to day communication and document workflows across the organization.
