The implementation exercised the Uplink Interference Optimizer module to detect high-interference uplink conditions and produce model-driven parameter recommendations and automated control adjustments consistent with Generative AI Platforms applied to radio access networks. Ericsson Cognitive Network Solution was configured to adjust uplink scheduling and interference mitigation parameters within RAN control loops, emphasizing uplink quality of service and spectral efficiency tuning.
Operationally the trial was integrated into Mobily's network operations workflows, with optimization outputs used to inform RAN control processes and operational playbooks. The scope of the trial covered Mobily's 5G RAN in Saudi Arabia and centered on network operations teams responsible for uplink performance and throughput management.
The trial demonstrated an increase in the share of transmissions under high-quality conditions by about 80 percent, indicating measurable uplink performance and spectral efficiency improvements in the evaluated environment. The project completed in 2024 and serves as a documented instance of Mobily using Ericsson Cognitive Network Solution within Generative AI Platforms for RAN optimization.
