In 2025, Eurofarma Laboratórios implemented Koerber PAS-X MES, a Manufacturing Execution System, at its main production facility in Itapevi, São Paulo. The deployment covers five buildings and multiple production types including generics, oncology medicines, OTC drugs, and veterinary products, and over 200 operator workstations now run Electronic Batch Recording from warehouse distribution through final packaging.
The Koerber PAS-X MES implementation delivers core capabilities including Electronic Batch Recording, digital equipment setup, documented cleaning procedures, and electronic logbooks, and the project produced more than 20,000 Master Batch Records to govern recipes, equipment usage, and material tracking. Initial functional scope focused on weighing and dispensing with connectivity to digital scales, through manipulation, filling, and packaging steps, with subsequent phases extending coverage to all remaining processes and product families.
Integrations were executed as part of the rollout, with PAS-X MES interfacing to SAP and to digital weighing devices in the initial phase, enabling centralized data access and end-to-end traceability across warehouse, production, and packaging operations. The implementation enforces electronic controls and audit trails to support FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliance, positioning the Itapevi site to operate at scale and produce thousands of batches per month across varied forms and presentations.
Project governance combined Körber project management with a multidisciplinary Eurofarma team, engaging key users from Quality, Production, Automation, IT, and Manufacturing Excellence throughout a phased rollout. The initial phase reached go-live in eight months from project kickoff, with governance processes and MBR design integrated into departmental workflows to ensure controlled execution and audit readiness.
