Eurotranciatura Mexico implemented Plex ERP in 2017 and went live in January 2017 with SCM Malagón & Asociados as the systems integrator, replacing an IBM AS/400 environment. The decision targeted Manufacturing ERP capability to improve traceability, quality control, and production planning across the company that serves electrical steel lamination markets and operates high speed presses from 125 to 600 tons.
Plex ERP was configured to centralize production management, inventory control, quality assurance, lot and traceability records, and statistical process control workflows, enabling shop floor data capture and production floor execution. The deployment emphasized Manufacturing ERP functional modules for production scheduling, material planning, and quality data recording, and the platform was positioned as a cloud solution to reduce ongoing technical maintenance overhead.
Operational coverage included more than 100 daily users across production, quality, engineering and supply chain functions, with auditors and supply chain partners granted visibility into process plans and results. The implementation was rolled out onto the production floor, and end users extended use cases over time to broaden process control and visibility into equipment utilization and product genealogy.
Governance and process change focused on empowering quality teams to perform statistical analysis and stop out of specification processes, plus enabling auditors to access live controls and records. Measured outcomes reported after the Plex ERP implementation include scrap rate reduction from 2.5 percent to 1.5 percent, equipment efficiency increases from 65 percent to over 70 percent for non automated operations and from 85 percent to 90 percent for automated operations, elimination of premium freight that had represented 0.7 percent of total sales, inventory accuracy improvement from 85 percent to 99 percent, and on time delivery approaching nearly 100 percent.
