| PTC | Legacy | PTC ThingWorx Asset Advisor | Asset Performance Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2019 | 2020 |
In 2019, Evyap implemented PTC ThingWorx Asset Advisor as a core Asset Performance Management initiative to reduce scrap and improve OEE across its manufacturing operations. The program began as a targeted pilot on a high-scrap baby diaper production line within Evyap's network of 50 production lines, with the Operational Excellence Department defining scope and objectives.
The deployment of PTC ThingWorx Asset Advisor was configured to deliver real-time analytics, predictive alerts, equipment behavior deviation detection, digitized safety reporting, and closed-loop defect tracking. Functional modules implemented included PLC data ingestion, dashboard visualization for line level OEE and quality indicators, predictive condition monitoring for imminent faults, action tracking with photo evidence, and maintenance scheduling triggers.
Architecturally the solution connected machine PLCs via Kepware to ThingWorx for data aggregation and real-time analysis, allowing ThingWorx Asset Advisor to visualize streaming production telemetry and generate up-to-the-minute predictions and alerts. DVM IoT Solutions performed a four month gap analysis and executed an agile implementation cadence with two to four week sprints, and the ThingWorx application was designed for flexible integration with Evyap’s existing enterprise systems.
Rollout followed four distinct phases, phase 1 connecting PLCs for data collection, phase 2 deploying dashboards to provide full real-time visibility across diaper and cosmetic lines, phase 3 digitizing and streamlining safety management and reporting previously done on paper, and phase 4 introducing deviation detection to inform more efficient maintenance scheduling. Governance was led by the Operational Excellence Department, which drove cultural change and standardized workflows by securing buy-in from shop floor operators through executives, and by enabling frontline employees to log defects and track corrective actions directly within PTC ThingWorx Asset Advisor.
Evyap documented immediate value on the pilot diaper line and scaled the application across additional lines and facilities, reducing reliance on paper based reporting and enabling closed-loop problem solving across production, maintenance, quality, and safety functions. Project materials note improvements in digital workforce productivity, reduced scrap, improved OEE, and a pathway to improve production quality by up to 35 percent through the combined use of lean principles and the ThingWorx Asset Advisor solution.
