Cashbook Legacy Cashbook AR Automation AR Automation ERP Financial Management n/a 2017 2017
In 2017, Exide Technologies implemented Cashbook AR Automation in an AR Automation deployment to address manual lockbox and remittance processing across its accounts receivable operation. Prior to the implementation bank lockbox files were manually downloaded from banking software into Excel, individual customer remittances were manually allocated in the ERP system, deductions for unearned discount were created manually by customers, and customer remittances arrived in a variety of formats which required significant manual reconciliation. The Cashbook AR Automation configuration centralized lockbox ingestion and normalised multiple incoming remittance formats into a single cash application workflow. Functional capabilities implemented included automated remittance matching, automated deduction capture for unearned discounts, configurable business rules for exception handling, and a workflow for prioritized resolution of unidentified payments. Integrations focused on ingesting bank lockbox feeds and electronic payment captures and linking those payment records to the corporate ERP system for posting allocations and adjustments. The implementation addressed the specific challenge that electronic payments often did not contain remittance information by consolidating disparate remittance formats into a standard processing pipeline so that cash application could reference a unified remittance dataset. Operational scope concentrated on accounts receivable and cash application teams, with process standardisation across incoming payment channels and the introduction of queue-based exception workflows for collections and payment research. Governance changes included establishing defined roles for exception resolution, rule sets for automated allocations, and audit trails for remittance decisioning to support ongoing AR operations. The Cashbook AR Automation deployment was implemented to reduce the extensive manual effort Exide had been expending to gather remittance information and to streamline allocation and deduction handling within the AR function.

UKG Legacy UKG Workforce Central Timekeeper (ex Kronos Workforce Timekeeper) Time and Attendance HCM n/a 2013 2013
In 2013, Exide Technologies deployed UKG Workforce Central Timekeeper (ex Kronos Workforce Timekeeper) as its Time and Attendance system. The implementation centralized time capture and approval workflows for Canadian hourly employees and established backup support for U.S. hourly payroll processing, aligning the application with Exide’s Payroll and HR operations. Configuration emphasized core Time and Attendance capabilities including time entry, supervisory approval queues, hours reconciliation, and scheduled export routines. Payroll-facing functions were implemented to validate and upload approved hours to ADP, process ad hoc pay adjustments such as quarterly sales incentives, and produce annual T2200 reporting for Canadian staff, leveraging UKG Workforce Central Timekeeper’s standard time capture and payroll feed features. Integration architecture linked UKG Workforce Central Timekeeper directly to ADP for payroll processing, while HR and Payroll teams managed timely transmission of new hire and termination data. Governance and operational controls centered on monitored approvals, pre-payroll reconciliations, and role-based ownership to support cross-border payroll and employee inquiry handling. The deployment connected the Time and Attendance application to business functions including Payroll, HR, and employee services, and relied on staff proficiency with Kronos timekeeping and payroll cycle discipline to maintain ongoing operations.

Microsoft Legacy Microsoft Power BI Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2015 2018
In 2015, Exide Technologies implemented Microsoft Power BI as a core part of its Analytics and BI environment to support reporting and business analysis across its global battery manufacturing, recycling and distribution operations. The deployment emphasized enterprise reporting cadence, with Microsoft Power BI used alongside SSRS and Tableau to produce monthly and quarterly visualizations, charts and dashboards for performance and variance analysis. The implementation encompassed data platform and ETL construction, moving from conceptual models to physical databases. Teams designed and maintained database objects including tables, indexes, views, stored procedures and T SQL scripts, and built ETL pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services control flows and data flows, together with OLAP oriented data cubes to shape an analysis friendly schema for Power BI. Integration architecture centered on Microsoft server databases and SQL Server Agent scheduling, with ETL packages automated via SSA to reduce manual intervention. Back end resilience and operational availability were addressed through Microsoft Azure based backup and disaster recovery, database and file replication, high availability clustering and mirroring, and ongoing server performance tuning to support continuous Power BI report consumption. Data governance and operational workflows were redesigned to embed validation and mapping steps before ingestion, cleansing and conversion to OLAP friendly models, and to instrument error handling for ETL job failures and performance deficits. The programme formalized scheduled execution of SSIS packages, documented data mappings and validation rules, and extended database security through roles and user management to support centralized report publishing. As stated in implementation notes, automation of SSIS execution via SQL Server Agent reduced manual steps and improved operational efficiency, and the combined use of SSRS and Microsoft Power BI delivered recurring business intelligence outputs used for business analysis and decision support. Exide Technologies Microsoft Power BI Analytics and BI investment therefore connected engineered ETL, OLAP modeling and cloud enabled recovery to operational reporting workflows.
