In 2013 Expotel Hospitality implemented M3 Hotel Accounting, migrating core financial functions from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 into a Hospitality ERP configuration. The implementation was executed at the property level for Express Hospitality in Gretna, LA and targeted accounting and human resource operations for a 50 person hotel business.
M3 Hotel Accounting was configured to support Accounts Receivable, General Cashier, Accounts Payable, and Income Audit modules, and to formalize month end close, journal entry processing, and routine financial reporting. The accounting department used M3 Hotel Accounting to supervise day to day cash management, control payables and receivables, prepare month end journal entries, and produce forecasts and reforecasts for the property.
The project included migration of historical financial data from SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to M3 Hotel Accounting to preserve prior-period history and trends used in competitive and rate analysis. Operational coverage extended beyond bookkeeping to include human resource record keeping, recruiting and onboarding workflows, and coordinated support for sales and marketing reporting needs, centralizing hotel data for daily operational decision making.
Governance and rollout were led by the on-site Task Force Manager and General Manager, who organized the opening timeline with ownership, staffed and trained the opening team, and enforced standard operating procedures and internal controls within the M3 environment. The deployed Hospitality ERP supported routine financial controls, daily rate monitoring and member level revenue oversight, and served as the primary system for accounting, income audit, HR file maintenance and property level forecasting.
