In 2012, Fabio Perini implemented Tecnest J-FLEX PWE as a Manufacturing Execution System to support production planning and manufacturing execution. The initial deployment was based at the Lucca headquarters and was extended to group production sites in Italy, Brazil, and China to unify operational control across the manufacturing footprint.
The project combined Tecnest J-Flex APS and MES capabilities, with Tecnest J-FLEX PWE used explicitly for MES functions. Configuration emphasized end to end production planning and shop floor execution workflows, including scheduling, dispatching, real time data collection, order tracking and traceability, consistent with Manufacturing Execution System functional patterns.
Operational coverage included production and operations management teams at headquarters and satellite plants, with governance oriented around centralized configuration and standardized execution practices driven from Lucca. The rollout focused on extending APS and MES processes across regional sites to harmonize planning and execution workflows without reference to a named prior system.
