| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2017 | 2018 |
In 2017, Familiprix implemented SAP S/4 HANA and deployed the SAP S/4 HANA application within the ERP Financial category to enable newly developed enterprise resource management and financial functionality. The project targeted production and nonproduction consolidation, with an emphasis on higher availability and capacity for current operations and future projects.
The production architecture centers on an IBM Power E850 server running the SUSE Linux Enterprise operating system to host SAP S/4 HANA workloads, paired with an IBM Storwize V5020 Gen2 device for centralized, enterprise class storage. The design includes IBM Capacity on Demand to scale compute resources and a roadmap to add a second Power E850 server to support a disaster recovery environment and subsequent SAP application versions.
IBM Gold Business Partner Present led the implementation and architecture work, building storage configurations, facilitating contacts with IBM resources for the HANA platform, and supporting configuration and deployment tasks. The solution supports a fully virtualized environment that can share resources and mix production and nonproduction workloads on the same platform, and it enables phased implementation of additional SAP modules over time.
Governance and rollout focused on consolidating infrastructure and simplifying the production environment, with Present providing recommendations and addressing operational concerns during deployment. As stated by the client, the implementation simplified the production environment, reduced system management time, increased system uptime, decreased data center footprint, and improved system reliability and availability for Familiprix.
