In 2015, Farmatodo implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial solution. The work was part of a Major IT Program that also included an Oracle RETAIL upgrade and renewal of Main and Contingency Data Centers, positioning the program to consolidate finance and retail IT operations across the company.
The Oracle E-Business Suite deployment focused on core financial modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets and Cash Management, configured to support statutory reporting, period controls and corporate financial close processes. Implementation activities emphasized chart of accounts design, financial period controls and transaction orchestration consistent with an ERP Financial rollout, alongside automation of invoice processing and reconciliation workflows typical for Oracle Financials.
Oracle E-Business Suite served as the financial hub integrated with the Oracle RETAIL upgrade to align point of sale and inventory accounting flows. The program scope included Main and Contingency Data Centers for application availability and disaster recovery architecture, and operational coverage spanned corporate finance, procurement, store operations and IT across Farmatodo's Colombia footprint.
Program governance reflected a centralized major IT program structure with formal change control and phased rollout sequencing to manage cutover between retail systems and the financial ledger. Master data governance and standardized financial workflows were established to streamline reconciliations and coordinate operational processes between store transactions and enterprise accounting.

In 2015 Farmatodo implemented Oracle Retail Xstore Point-of-Service as its Point Of Sale solution across its store network in Venezuela and Colombia. The initial deployment focused on modernizing in-store checkout and improving the consumer experience on the store floors, positioning the Point Of Sale instance to work in concert with corporate retail processes.
Farmatodo integrated Oracle Retail Xstore Point-of-Service with Oracle Retail Merchandising System, Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management and Oracle Retail Warehouse Management System to centralize merchandising, inventory and fulfillment workflows at the corporate level. Oracle Retail Xstore Point-of-Service was configured to provide transaction processing, price and promotion handling, loyalty interaction at the register, and real-time inventory lookup to enable consistent store-level execution.
The integrated architecture supported more than 200 stores and an online channel, and provided the real-time inventory visibility and store consistency required to underpin Farmatodo’s aggressive home delivery model in Colombia, including a 30 minute delivery promise. The implementation created a framework to expand into new countries and to deploy new stores more rapidly through standardized POS configuration and common retail data flows.
Farmatodo leveraged Oracle best practices and the broader Oracle Retail suite to fast-track rollout across two countries within two years, while emphasizing information integrity and reduced technological risk to sustain continuity and expansion of retail operations. Governance focused on aligning store operations, merchandising and warehouse management processes to the integrated retail platform to ensure consistent execution across stores and channels.
