The IRIS Earnie IQ instance operated from Fastflow’s data centre in Bowburn and was implemented to coexist with other operational systems such as plant hire, fleet management and the CAMS works management environment.
Governance and rollout were managed by the company ICT lead who also drove virtualisation and a migration to a thin client desktop model to standardize environments and centralize administrative control. The infrastructure changes that accompanied the IRIS Earnie IQ rollout supported stated objectives of reduced power consumption, lower administrative support time and more reliable disaster recovery, while aligning payroll operations with Fastflow’s high availability obligations to key clients.

This arrangement supported centralized account control and remote support across multiple Fastflow Group sites in the United Kingdom.
Governance and workflow changes placed user lifecycle management, device configuration, MDM policy enforcement, and onsite training under the IT Support Technician function, with formal escalation to 2nd line support and liaison with third party vendors for specialized software. Routine operational tasks also included terminal server administration and production of operational reports using Microsoft Access, embedding Microsoft 365 into the company’s collaboration and mobile workforce operations.
