WISekey Legacy WISeAuthentic Blockchain Platform Blockchain Platform Blockchain n/a 2018 2018 In 2018, Favre-Leuba implemented WISeKey's WISeAuthentic Blockchain Platform as a Blockchain Platform to issue tamper proof digital identities and to enable NFC based warranty activation for its luxury timepieces. The deployment centered on a blockchain registry model provided by the WISeAuthentic Blockchain Platform, with an emphasis on immutable identity issuance labeled as Watch Birth Certificates and cryptographic provenance records for each watch. Configuration work focused on digital identity issuance, NFC based warranty activation workflows, and authentication checks at point of sale and service. WISeAuthentic Blockchain Platform was configured to generate and persist Watch Birth Certificates, support retailer activation transactions, and surface provenance data for service desk verification, aligning standard blockchain capabilities with product lifecycle and authentication workflows. The solution was integrated into Favre-Leuba retailer activation processes and aftermarket service centers, extending operational coverage across Switzerland and global markets. Business functions impacted included retail activation, authenticity checks, traceability for supply chain and ownership, and stolen watch recovery workflows, with the blockchain record acting as a single source of provenance for those processes. Governance and rollout were executed through retailer and service center onboarding, embedding verification steps into activation and service procedures and training operational staff on identity checks. Favre-Leuba used the WISeAuthentic Blockchain Platform to improve authenticity checks, traceability and stolen-watch recovery as stated in the implementation notes.
