Acumatica Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise Acumatica Cloud ERP ERP Financial ERP n/a 2019 2019
In 2019, Fidelux Lighting implemented Acumatica Cloud ERP as an ERP Financial system to replace Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise after shifting to a distributor sales model. The Connecticut manufacturer selected Acumatica Cloud ERP for its cloud architecture and consumption licensing model to give more than 30 distributor agencies affordable, controlled access to inventory and order history while consolidating accounting and order processing functions. The deployment included Acumatica financial management, CRM, exchange integration, expense management, advanced inventory, and order management modules, configured to support assembly and kitting workflows and commission processing. Fidelux configured a custom commission tab in the sales order flow that interfaces with accounts payable so commissions are triggered only after invoice payment, a customization developed with guidance from CAL Business Solutions. Implementation was completed in just under two months, led by internal project management and incremental configuration using Acumatica self-service resources. Operational coverage spans headquarters and two Connecticut warehouses in Middletown and Wallingford, and extends to customer service, warehouse, accounting and finance teams, and external distributor users. The Acumatica Cloud ERP instance consolidates inventory component tracking so kit assembly costs and part histories are recorded end to end, enabling one-staff order processing where previously two people were required in QuickBooks. Fidelux is also integrating Microsoft Power BI to extract sales and inventory snapshots for distributor reporting and executive dashboards. Governance and process changes included automating commission workflows, removing spreadsheet-based commission tracking, and eliminating repetitive import and export tasks between systems. The company leveraged Acumatica’s generic inquiry and dashboard tools to create role-based visibility for sales, warehouse, and finance teams, and used the cloud consumption licensing model to control access costs for distributor stakeholders. Explicit business outcomes reported by Fidelux include improved inventory management and assembly visibility, streamlined and automated commission payments saving seven hours a month, elimination of manual duplicate data entry, improved data visibility, avoidance of expensive ERP user licensing costs, and affordable inventory and order transparency for more than 30 distributors. The Acumatica Cloud ERP deployment positions Fidelux to support increased transaction volumes as it expands distribution and enters new market pilots.
