In 2013, Finance Trust Bank Uganda began a technology partnership with Craft Silicon and implemented Craft Silicon BR Core Banking as its central platform. The implementation anchored the bank's Core Banking capabilities on Craft Silicon BR Core Banking and established the vendor relationship that continues to be referenced in vendor materials and testimonials.
The deployment encompassed Bankers Realm core banking functionality including treasury, trade finance, and AML modules, together with digital channel capabilities for mobile and internet banking. Configuration work emphasized standard core banking workflows such as deposit account processing, payment clearing, loan servicing, and a central general ledger, aligned with the Core Banking category functional model.
The engagement concentrated on channel integration and digital banking improvements in the finance area across Uganda and the East Africa region. Architecturally the environment implemented a central transactional core with channel adapters for mobile and internet channels and integrated the AML and trade finance modules to transaction feeds to support surveillance and trade lifecycle processing.
Governance and operational scope focused on bank finance operations and digital channel orchestration, with the project cited in vendor collateral rather than as an independent case study. The vendor relationship established in 2013 positioned Craft Silicon BR Core Banking as the bank's platform for treasury, trade finance, AML, and digital channel consolidation in the region.
